Assistance League® has over 22,000 members in 120 chapters nationwide focused on making communities a better place to live. The Pueblo chapter currently has about 60 active volunteer members.
ACTION! Week is a marketing initiative with celebrations coinciding with founder Anne Banning’s birthday on February 25th. Our chapter’s goal is to enhance the availability of new reading material to children in need, and in doing so; we believe it will benefit numerous children and their families in a countless number of ways.
Chapters were encouraged to advertise at the local level and to make it known that this is a nationwide endeavor by our all-volunteer organization showing the many ways this undertaking helps children. Assistance League Pueblo® will have the opportunity to partner with the local Boys and Girls Club to distribute hundreds of new books within the Pueblo community. It is exciting to think of the energy and excitement that we can generate as we go forward with Assistance League ACTION! Week and the difference we can make in opening the eyes of youngsters to new and exciting stories on imagination, action, adventure, magic and mystery.
The exchange of books will take place on Friday, February 26th at the Boys and Girls Club Sprague Center at noon. They will be accepted by Director Mauricio Paez and Becky Medina. Wendy Thornton, Kelly McCarthy, Pat Gonzalez and Pam Roberts will be representing the Assistance League Pueblo along with Irene Price, photographer.
